In Part One of this series, we presented the options available in the free BUSLOC app for the students/parents to submit self-attestations before boarding the school bus, to help the School Districts enforce health and safety measures during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. As outlined in a previous post, BUSLOC software has options in multiple layers for COVID-19 checks/attestations. It is up to the District Administrators to chose the options in BUSLOC. In this Part Two, we briefly describe the options available for the bus attendant or the bus driver, using the free BUSLOC DA app, to help enforce self checks and checks for students at the student’s bus stop.

As shown in the below illustration, the driver and attendant can provide self-attestations for COVID-19 health checks on a daily basis before starting their schedule (as shown in the left panel; the text is customizable for each school district). The app displays, as an attendance module, the list of students boarding the bus at each bus stop (see the middle panel). Student daily checks can be logged in at the bus stop, by the attendant, before the student boards the bus (right panel). The check results are made available to the district administrators to view in the BUSLOC dashboard.

The COVID-19 module in BUSLOC apps is in addition to the free school bus tracking module (see the Map View in the above illustration) and all BUSLOC components are customizable and branded for the school district. In addition, the BUSLOC platform allows administrators to send bus route level text broadcasts to all students/parents on that route and to individual students/parents.
